Special Sensory Friendly Playtime
Join us for a special Sensory-Friendly Playtime the day after Thanksgiving. This session offers a calm and supportive environment for children with autism, sensory processing differences, or other disabilities. Your family can explore the Museum at your own pace before and after the excitement of Torrington’s Second Annual Illuminated Parade begins outside.
What to Expect
- Reduced noise across the Museum
- Lower lighting for a softer experience
- Adaptive tools, including noise-reducing headphones and social stories
- Quiet spaces are available when breaks are needed
- Attendance limited to 75 people
- Accessible restrooms and family-friendly spaces
- Admission is $5 per person | free for KidsPlay Members
This evening gives children a predictable, relaxed visit and gives you a chance to connect with other families. Staff will be available to support your child’s play and comfort.
Happening Outside: Torrington’s Illuminated Parade
Beginning at 5 pm, Torrington’s 2nd Annual Illuminated Parade will pass right by KidsPlay. Families at KidsPlay will have easy access to step outside and enjoy the lights during Sensory-Friendly Playtime.
